James Greene, Jr.

James Greene, Jr., a native of Harford County, Maryland, has over 25 years experience in the industry as an entrepreneur, team leader and hands-on worker.

James started doing residential lawn maintenance, and grew his business both in numbers of customers and in the areas he served, until he had over one hundred clients in two counties in Maryland. James entered the field of commercial landscaping in the early 2000s, concentrating on the commercial side of the business, especially from 2013-2019, when he worked personally in commercial landscaping, mowing and lawn care.

In 2019, James broadened J&J Services' capabilities to include commercial snow removal contracting, commercial landscaping, commercial construction and related services for a variety of clients. He has in his career supervised landscaping at distribution centers and for businesses including Frito-Lay, Federal Express, Bayview Medical Center, Franklin Square Medical Center, McCormick Spice Company, Trade Point Atlantic and others.

James is proud to own J&J Greene and to be not only a hands-on manager, but also to be critically involved in every aspect of the business, from supply, hiring, invoicing and supervision to quality control/accountability. James D. Thornton

James D. Thornton has a diverse background in management, construction and real estate, as well as significant governmental experience and relationships. As Principal of the Thorwood Real Estate Group, LLC, he acquired and successfully completed an extensive renovation, marketing and leasing of a 20,000 square foot building in Baltimore City with 15 apartment units.

He is a former Senior Vice President of MBNA, where he was tasked with top- level negotiations with entities such as the NFL; he was prior to that a Vice President / General Manager of Sears Automotive, responsible for operations in over 800 stores nationwide.

Jim Thornton successfully managed an African American Historical Preservation Program grant for Hosanna School Museum’s property the McComas Institute in Joppa, Maryland. He was the sole point of contact for aspects of this $100,000 project, which was successfully completed on budget. He is a Member of the Trial Courts Judicial Nomination Commission, 4th Commission District, Harford County, Maryland. He is a Board Member of the Harford County Planning Advisory Board, for which he was appointed by the Harford County Executive and confirmed by the Harford County Council.

James D. Thornton currently is Chairman of the Board of the Baltimore Museum of Art.
